TechnologyOne rallies behind higher ed, as Curtin University bolsters SaaS solution

15 May 2020 – Curtin University - ranked in the top 1% of universities worldwide - has turned to leading Australian software provider TechnologyOne to bolster its Software as a Service (SaaS) ERP solution, as it works to respond to the unprecedented impacts of COVID-19.

The university has extended its existing TechnologyOne solution to include project management functionality, which will enable it to optimise capital work programs and manage all project processes using best practice portfolio, program and project management methodologies.

The latest update to the university's SaaS solution builds on a 30-year partnership with TechnologyOne, with the university signing on as TechnologyOne’s first education customer in 1990 to co-develop its Student Management solution.

Curtin University last year also called on the leading SaaS provider to transform its HR, Finance and Payroll systems, by moving from an on-premise environment to SaaS.

Stuart MacDonald, TechnologyOne’s Chief Operating Officer, said the company is working “incredibly closely” with higher education customers such as Curtin University, to ensure it provides partnership and support amid the challenges faced by COVID-19.

Curtin University’s Director of Finance and Disruption Philip Thomas said Curtin chose the TechnologyOne Project Management solution due to the benefits of integration into its wider TechnologyOne enterprise solution, which includes Financials, Supply Chain and Contract Management.
